Green Lantern #30
When Hal Jordan comes to Gotham City, Green Lantern #30 offers a Green Lantern and Batman team-up. Hoping for help in whatever the Book of Oa showed him, Hal isn't above trading a few barbs with Batman as the two bicker throughout the issue (although we do end with a few kind words from the Dark Knight Detective).
Allowing for a team-up, the pair work together to stop a kid whose psychokinetic powers are out of control. Batman's scary look and demeanor aren't deescalating the situation allowing Hal to step in and show off what a ring-slinger can do. As the comic barrels towards issue #600, and a shakeup likely to lead me to ignore it for quite some time given the reported choice of a new leading man for the title, this is a fun one-off that still touches on the larger themes at play. I may not be happy on where the comic is heading, but I'm enjoying these short adventures along the way.
