Murder in a Small Town - Nightshade

The Second Season of Murder in a Small Town concludes with the long-teased nightshade murders which will put Cassandra (Kristin Kreuk) in danger again as she finds herself face-to-face with the woman (Janet Kidder) who believes she has been doing God's work in killing of the unworthy. Her methods that have appeared as unrelated accidents, but leaving a calling card on their graves and sites of their death over the years has allowed a pattern to be discovered.

Given the amount of build-up to the mystery, it's a bit surprising that the whole thing is uncovered and solved in just a single episode, but that episode does help bring characters back together including Karl (Rossif Sutherland) and Cassandra whose latest bit of recklessness was born out of good intentions and a misunderstanding between herself and Karl's daughters. As for the relationship between the town's sheriff and librarian, the answer to a fateful question is likely to determine everything should the show be renewed for a third season.
