Watson - Never Been CRISPR'd
"Never Been CRISPR'd" offers the return of Hobie McSorley (Nat Faxon) whose genetic manipulation puts the life of his girlfriend Wendy (Jessica Miesel) in danger. Rather than looking for a disease, the team looks for the cause and trigger to Wendy'd sickness and how both her new and previous genetic mamipulation threaten her life.
While working on Wendy, Watson is also distracted by the return of Sherlock Holmes (Robert Carlyle) whose erratic behavior leads him to believe something is seriously wrong with his best friend. Although nothing is confirmed, and the rest of the team is unaware of the source of his anxiety, Watson's concern does allow for him to bring Shinwell (Ritchie Coster) in on the secret rising the number of those who know about Sherlock to one more.
Other aspects of the episode involve Watson admitting to himself the depth of his feelings for Mary (Rochelle Aytes) but being too late to act on them, and the reveal that the recently-dumped Beck (Noah Mills) is the one toying with Sasha (Inga Schlingmann) making her believe her birth mother may be out there looking for her. Both feel like longer threads which could end up badly for both characters (although I'd still bet on Watson and Mary finding their way back to each other).
