The Mighty Nein - The Mighty Nein / Little Spark
Starting with all six of the core characters together in prison following the disaster at the carnival, the bickering group comes to a consensus to break out of prison, find the toad, rescue Toya, and prove their innocence. Things don't go exactly as planned, but despite their mistrust of each other the group is able to work together and take down the monster only to return to the prison and find a new fight in front of them in Owelia (Bennett Abara).
Along with offering a battle with newly formed group against a powerful Volstrucker, and her capture and interrogation, "Little Spark" also reveals Caleb's (Liam O'Brien) past, his home before magic, how he was recruited and trained at the Soltryce Academy where he found friends, purpose, and love, the secret to the Volstruckers' enhanced powers, the awful deeds he did as part of the group, and how his freedom from them was born in fire and pain.
While still allowing the story to naturally progress, Caleb's past (which he will share with the others after his final battle with Owelia) is brought to the forefront allowing another character's backstory to be explored. Both the present and past build to highlighting Caleb's trauma to the point that the fire consumes everything but the tortured former Volstrucker and his friends.
