NCIS: Origins - Fools Rush In

NCIS: Origins returns from mid-season hiatus, as "Fools Rush In" forces chaaracters to deal with the fallout of decisions and actions made the first-half of the show's Second Season. For Wheeler (Patrick Fischler) that means dealing with the departure of his secret lover to greener pastures, for Gibbs (Austin Stowell) that means waking up hungover to the reality of a new marriage, and, following the discovery of the identity of the man who bombed the theater, Franks (Kyle Schmid) must deal with the decision he made to introduce his brother to the commune which now puts him under the crosshairs of Oakley's replacement (Hannah Barefoot) who riles Franks up for the entire episode.

Much of the episode focuses on the bombing, and Gibbs' co-workers busting his balls for his drunken marriage. Lala's (Mariel Molino) reaction to Gibb's marriage pushes her into a qustionable relationship of her own. And along the way we do get a couple of key character-defining moments such as Gibbs trusting his gut in the interogation room and, for better or worse, choosing to stick it out with Diane (Kathleen Kenny) rather than get an annulment. In many ways the episode plays like a season premiere rather than a mid-season one as it resets the status quo once more inching Gibbs closer to the man he will eventually become.
