Shadow of Maul #1

Set prior to the events of the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: Shadow of Maul, the first issue of the five-issue mini-series is a Maul comic in name only (as the character only appears on the final page). The man protagonist of Shadow of Maul #1 is bounty hunter turned police officer Captain Brander Lawson struggling to bring justice to the corrupt planet of Janix (with the help of a robot sidekick).

Since Maul isn't a part of the story at all, my guess is either Lawson or Janix is likely to play a large role in the upcoming story with this mini-series setting up the backstory for one or both. If it doesn't do that, I'm not sure what the point of this series would be as there's little here other than spotlighting Lawson as the prototypical good cop who goes over the line when necessary and the setting of a planet which seems to be a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
