Wonder Man - Doorman

In an episode that features neither Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) nor Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), the standalone episode "Doorman" offers the reason why an actor with super-powers would want to keep them secret by offering the tragedy of DeMarr Davis (Byron Bowers).

Exposed to toxic waste outside the club where he worked as the doorman, DeMarr develops powers where people or objects can pass through him, offering a door of sorts. After using powers to save those trapped in the club during a fire he gains some limited celebrity eventually leading to commercials, appearances on late night, and even using his powers in a heist movie starring his bud Josh Gad who employs him for a time as a sort of personal assistant and problem solver.

I'm always up for a show or movie utilizing black and white, although I'm somewhat confused on the artistic reason to do so in this show. At first it seemed to help frame a story from the past, but Gad's involvement means all of this happened not tat long ago creating some confusion as to just when the events of "Doorman" actually take place and begin affecting Simon's life. I'm also not sure the one tragic incident really explains the "Doorman Clause," or, if Simon was a grown man when this occurred, how it can relates to him hiding the powers for years prior to what happened.
