Castle - Pandora

When a body is found choked, shot, stabbed and thrown out a fourth-story window Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) are quick to identify and track down the killer (David Chisum), who took a hostage (Julia Whelan) and fled the scene. And then things get really interesting.

Not only does the victim appear not to exist, his body disappears from the morgue, as does their suspect - who manages to escape the NYPD lock-up inside the precinct and steal the corpse without anyone noticing, including Alexis (Molly C. Quinn) who has begun a new internship under Lanie (Tamala Jones).

While Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) try to discover how the suspect escaped the precint, and why he stole a police uniform, Beckett and Castle find discover another victim which leads them into the middle of a CIA investigation led by a former flame (and muse) of Castle's - CIA Agent Sophia Turner (Jennifer Beals).

Turner believes the former agent plans to "initiate a catastrophic event which poses an imminent threat to the country." The discovery of a connection between the agent and a presumed dead mathematics professor who was an expert in linchpin (domino) theory and had expert knowledge on how to stage a small event to trigger a larger event, leads the CIA to fear the worst is on its way.

The unique situation creates tension between Castle and Beckett who feels a little jealous of the writer's past relationship with his former muse he based one of his characters after. In putting Beckett first Castle is able to find the mathematician. However, he'll likely come to regret the decision as the first-half cliffhanger ends with the man dead and Castle and Beckett soon to follow. Next week's conclusion should be a lot of fun.
