Hawaii Five-0 - Akanahe

In an attempt to force McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Captain Grover (Chi McBride) to get along, the Governor (Richard T. Jones) assigns the pair on a routine assignment to bring in a young man (Nick Jonas) with a stack of unpaid parking tickets. The simple assignment becomes anything but when the pair take fire by four armed men, two of whom get away with  the young hacker who helped the group pull of a complicated bank heist earlier that day.

Grabbing the remaining two bank robbers and the lawyer who introduced them to the hacker all trying to flee the island, McGarrett and Grover discover they've been looking at the situation from the wrong angle. The hacker didn't work for the crew; the crew works for the hacker who they are more afraid of than going to jail. With the help of Catherine (Michelle Borth) and Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) they also discover the bank job was nothing more than a dry-run to test a security system being upgraded in all U.S. Embassies.

By the time the pair catch up the hacker he's had to to create the ultimate stay-out-of-jail card by hacking a commercial airliner on its way to Hawaii which he will crash unless Five-0 puts him on the first plane off the island. After identifying the computer the hacker is using to control the flight, Catherine is able to jam the signal but not before the hacker manages to make one more disappearing act.

Thrown together in a situation quickly escalating out of control, McGarrett and Grover eventually learn to put their issues aside and work together. Letting the hacker escape, and having him taunt McGarrett one last time, means we'll probably be seeing him again soon. The episode also offers us a look at Grover's home life with his daughter (Paige Hurd) and an opening scene involving Kono (Grace Park) deciding to continue search for Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) after Sato (Louis Ozawa Changchien) admits to Five-0 that Adam is still alive and on the run.
