Scandal - Inside the Bubble

After returning from her tropical seclusion with Jake (Scott Foley) and choosing to stay and reopen Pope & Associates, Olivia (Kerry Washington) responds to a friend (Sonya Walger) concerned about the whereabouts of her missing teenage daughter. It doesn't take long for Quinn (Katie Lowes) to find the girl in a posh D.C. hotel, however when the group discovers the mother was sleeping with the daughter's boyfriend and the girl turns up dead in the hotel room after the mother was led their by Olivia things turn dicey very quickly.

In ongoing storylines Abby (Darby Stanchfield) continues to prove herself as the President's (Tony Goldwyn) new Press Secretary, Mellie (Bellamy Young) becomes obsessed with the video of an apparent murder which she is positive was an accidental death, Jake continues to investigate Harrison's murder and uncovers a connection to both Charlie (George Newbern) and Rowan (Joe Morton), and David Rosen (Joshua Malina) is tempted yet again to dip into the B16 files and use blackmail to achieve another win for the White House.

The storyline that still doesn't work for me this season is the evil manipulations of Lizzie Bear (Portia de Rossi), fighting Fitz's move to the middle on several key issues including gun control and equal pay, which now include setting Cyrus (Jeff Perry) up with a high-class male prostitute (Vanya Asher). Even given his recent loss I have a hard time believing Cyrus' devious mind would allow himself to fall into such a dangerous trap and provide his enemies with such potent ammunition. The exact state of Olivia's relationship with Jake continues to be forced down our throats despite the Jake's argument at how simple the arrangement is. Put these two together for good, end the relationship, or at least stop harping on it in every scene they appear together.
