Scorpion - A Cyclone

After spectacularly bungling a training exercise designed to sell the Director of Homeland Security (David Fabrizio) on the Scorpion consultants, Walter (Elyes Gabel) and his team work to prove their worth by finding a bomber before any more of his devices go off around the city. While accidentally getting their only lead killed, and putting Agent Gallo (Robert Patrick) in even more hot water, what Walter and the group discover is someone going to a lot of effort to wipe any trace of an important record somehow tied to a two-week old murder from the Internet.

The group's snafu early in the episode forces Paige (Katharine McPhee) to work harder to get along with the group and be the buffer to the outside world they so desperately need. She also provides a pivotal clue and one point allowing the group to redefine the parameters of their search and understand what the seemingly random terrorist attacks are actually accomplishing.

Along with Paige finding her role, "A Cyclone" also works the other members of the team into the story a little more. Happy's (Jadyn Wong) expertise allows the group to find and limit the explosion of the last bomb (and create a makeshift listening device). Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is able to profile the bomber and keep the group one-step ahead of the various other law enforcement agencies in tracking down their bomber. Sylvester's (Ari Stidham) heroic actions and quick thinking allow Gallo to capture the traitor (Glenn Plummer) responsible for the attacks and save the remaining proof to put him away. Although the end makes Walter the hero (yet again), I'm happy to see the show get more use out of its supporting cast and focus on the unit rather than just their leader.
