The Blacklist - Dr. Adrian Shaw

The capture of Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) doesn't last long, nor does the small bits of knowledge Lizzie (Megan Boone) has been able to scrape together about her past when she realizes the dying madman obsessed with her isn't her biological father. The two-part episode includes an escape from a locked-down hospital wing, Reddington (James Spader) trading himself for Lizzie's safe return, and a confrontation between Kirk and Reddington that suggests (but doesn't confirm) a few important details about Lizzie's parents.

Most notable for the scenes of Reddington's torture at the hands of Kirk, the second episode includes Red admitting that Lizzie could be his daughter (but in a way that makes it hard to confirm the truth of those statements). He also tells Kirk one piece of information not divulged to the audience which is enough (plus the promise of a cure for his enemy) to give Red his freedom. The only possible excuse I can think of that would prevent Kirk from killing Red would involve a hidden truth about Lizzie's mother. Could she, after all this time, still be alive?
