The Librarians and the Rise of Chaos

After the Librarians defeat some druids from using a rune stone (and a giant wicker statue) for nefarious purposes, the team heads to Boston where the Egyptian God of Chaos has inhabited a former Navy man and is using his host in an attempt to release pure evil into the world. It seems things won't be slowing down for the team this season as the battle between good and evil is just heating up. Aside from the magical threats, this season the team will also have to deal with the Department of Statistical Anomalies which have their own interest in the mystical events (and it seems the wrong perception of the Librarians and their mission).

The season premiere is a fun reintroduction to the team all working together to save the world (and take a ride in a submarine). There are a few places where the TV budget is lacking (such as some shaky CGI and the giant lock which blocks the portal to pure evil which reminded me of classic Doctor Who), but the spirit of the series seems to be intact. I do have some questions, however. If the Librarians saved the Library why are they still working out of the annex? Does the foreshadowing of this episode suggest that the team's Guardian may not survive the season? And will Flynn (Noah Wyle) still around for all 10 episodes this year? Will Cassandra (Lindy Booth) be allowed to use magic? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
