The Flash - Fury Rogue

The return of Earth-X's Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller), and the introduction of another villainous version of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), are welcome editions to an otherwise melancholy episode as members of Team Flash struggle do deal with their recent losses. For Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Harry (Tom Cavanagh) that means facing the parts of themselves that apparently have been lost, and for Barry (Grant Gustin) that means stuffing his pain over the loss of Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) deep down rather than grieve for his missing friend. At least sad Barry is more bearable than a-hole Barry.

Needing to keep a nuclear-powered meta-human out of the hands of DeVoe (Neil Sandilands), and needing the help of someone who the genius not might expect, leads Team Flash to enlist the help of Snart (who also helps Barry work through his issues), but it also unintenionally allows for evil Laurel's arrival an Earth-1 which almost results in Central City nuclear meltdown. Oops. While DeVoe's plan appears to still be in place, and he correctly guesses on most of the hero's moves and their consequences, "Fury Rogue" does offer insight to how the villain might be beaten as his inability to understand or predict an emotional (and illogical) responses nearly derails one important piece of his plan. The episode also continues to foreshadow a growing divide between DeVoe and his wife, over his increasing lack of humanity, who may also play an important role in the villain's eventual fall.
