Set prior to the events of The Bad Guys, with the thieves still working on the wrong side of the law, The Bad Guys - A Very Bad Holiday gives us the anthropomorphic villains scrambling to save Christmas (and their planned big holiday heist) after their actions unintentionally ruin the holiday for the entire town. Trying to do the right thing for the wrong reason, and sucking at it, provides the crux of the holiday special that fans of the original movie may enjoy (although it's not one of the more memorable animated holiday specials).
