The Flash - We are the Flash

With the Enlightenment about to begin, Team Flash races to save the world in the show's Fourth Season finale. For the Flash (Grant Gustin), that means entering DeVoe's (Neil Sandilands) mind while the rest of the team, with the help of Marlize (Kim Engelbrecht), attempt to stay hidden from the maniacal super-genius in order for Barry to pull a last-second save. Marlize's help, and the reveal of Jessica Parker Kennedy as Barry and Iris's (Candice Patton) future daughter come as no big surprise. The return of Ralph (Hartley Sawyer), who Barry finds trapped in DeVoe's mind, proves to be the real key to stopping the villain as Ralph reasserts control of his body. For a season that has spent many, many hours on setting Ralph Dinby as a character, it is nice to see him get his moment.

Along with Ralph's return, the finale as wraps up both the Thinker storyline and offers an interesting twist to Harry (Tom Cavanagh) regaining some, but not all, of his intelligence. As for Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), her subplot continues to run with another vague reference to her past which may, eventually, help restore her frosty alter-ego. Despite some minor ups and downs, and too much brooding Barry, Season Four proved to be a success for The Flash in finding a way to center a season on threat that wasn't yet another speedster. The actions of Nora in helping her father destroy DeVoe's satellite means we're likely looking into another time paradox storyline to begin the show's next season. The character obviously waited to make her presence known, but just what exactly did she change? And what repercussions does it hold for our heroes heading into next season?
