Usagi Yojimbo: The Hidden #2

The second issue of Usagi Yojimbo: The Hidden delves more into Inspector Ishida and Miyamoto Usagi delving into the murder of Christians the night before. Once again we see strong foreshadowing that Ishida's boss is either culpable in the crimes or at the very least far more interested in finding someone to blame and closing the case rather than uncovering the true motives for the deaths.

Other than Usagi and Ishida stopping a group from killing the gate guards who let in the murder victims and those that pursued them (someone obviously doesn't want them to report on what they saw), there's little action in the second issue of the seven-issue mini-series which instead focuses on the pair discussing the crime and searching for clues.

So far the only answers Usagi and Ishida have uncovered have led to larger questions. Just what was the true motive for the crime, and what help can the local thief offer in solving it? Worth a look.
