Scandal - Dirty Little Secrets

Pope & Associates are hired to protect the a Washington D.C. madam's (Mimi Kennedy) politically explosive client list that include's the President's (Tony Goldwyn) choice (John Getz) for the Supreme Court from going public just minutes before an irate U.S. Attorney (Joshua Malina) can exercise his search warrant on the woman's home.

As Olivia (Kerry Washington) tries to convince both the President's Chief of Staff (Jeff Perry) and the judge to withdraw his name from consideration before the matter becomes public in the middle of his confirmation hearings Olivia starts to doubt the man's guilt after speaking privately with both the judge and his wife (Megan Gallagher). She's also approached by the Vice President's Chief of Staff (Matt Letscher) who pleads with his old friend to make the situation go away.

Olivia sends Quinn (Katie Lowes) to babysit Amanda Tanner (Liza Weil) and keep snooping reporters  (Brendan Hines) away from her hospital room but after Quinn loses her it's up to Olivia and Quinn to convince the woman she needs the help of the woman who caused her to attempt to take her own life. Eventually Amanda agrees to let Olivia represent her, but that pesky journalist may already have stumbled on the story of his career.

The judge/madam storyline has a twist which is far too easy to see coming, but the fact that both the White House and Olivia have to tiptoe around each other given the state of affairs (no pun intended) between them certainly helps sell the story. And the humorous closing of the case, which comes dangerously close to blackmail, comes off well.
