Covert Affairs - She Believes

In Frankfurt with her unlikely new friend FSB operative Olga Akarova (Lynn Collins), Annie (Piper Perabo)'s assassination mission becomes a kidnapping and interrogation once she learns Aleksandre Belenko's (Shawn Dowyle) men have taken Auggie (Christopher Gorham). As McQuaid (Nic Bishop) attempts to follow his own sources, Joan (Kari Matchett) and Calder (Hill Harper) rally all CIA resources into bringing their missing agent home including putting Sydney (Nazneen Contractor) in even more danger.

Despite their plan to use Belenko's doctor to facilitate the kidnapping things don't go quite according to plan. As we've seen in the past Annie's attempts to torture a prisoner once again end with someone getting killed. And although Olga does get some gratification in torturing her enemy, Belenko eventually escapes to continue his plans, which somehow rely on Auggie, leaving Annie with no leads and without her newest asset. She may not be reinstated as a field agent for the company, but Joan puts Annie in control of the CIA's extraction plan to find Belenko and Auggie as the season moves into its final three episodes beginning next week.

The search for Auggie continues to obscure what Belenko wants with the soldier (and why the killer targeted every member of Auggie's unit). Next week may provide some answers, and possibly reunite Annie and McQuaid (Nic Bishop) in the field, but despite Joan putting her support behind Annie in retrieving Auggie the season continues to keep Annie on the outside of the CIA looking in. Will this trend continue? Will Auggie survive? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
