Elementary - For All You Know

Things get personal for Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) when he becomes the prime suspect in a three-year-old murder which occurred during the hazy day of heavy heroin use make everyone except Watson (Lucy Liu) question whether or not the detective might be responsible. As Watson begins an investigation into the murder Holmes seeks out an old associate (Michael Weston) and is visited by the dead woman's family who, based on what the police have told them, hold Sherlock responsible for the crime and take it upon themselves to offer some violent retribution.

Self-doubt and self-pity aren't characteristics you would usually associate with Elementary's version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective, but as defective thinker unable to ignore facts (however improbable) Holmes is unable to accept the possibility of his complicity in a murder of a woman he can't even remember. Given his guilt over his drug use and inability to remember any facts which would help the case (which include some self-destructive choices), it falls on Watson to do much of the heavy lifting including finally discovering a key piece of evidence that will allow some bloody clothes to be tracked back to another murder and fill-in the blanks as to what really happened three years ago.
