Set after the events of the movie, the two-part opener to the Big Hero 6 series follows Hiro (Ryan Potter) to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology where he begins re-assembling Baymax (Scott Adsit) which he attempts to hide from Professor Granville (Jenifer Lewis). In an episode full of shenanigans, Hiro must steal from Granville in order to reclaim Betamax's skeleton from Yama (Paul Briggs) who, of course, quickly betrays them and forces the rest of the team to suit up for a rescue.
With the heroes stealing back Baymax's skeleton and the item "Part Two" focuses on Yama creating copies of Baymax' skeleton. A common theme of both episodes is Fred (Brooks Wheelan) struggling to keep the team together with Hiro moving after Baymax is complete to concentrate on his studies and the other heroes choosing to hang up their metaphorical capes at least until the army of robots begins marching across the city. Realizing the team is needed, Big Hero 6 saves the day and will continue to protect San Fransokyo for three full seasons.
