Beware the Batman - Animal

After a dangerous criminal known as the Key (JB Blanc) steals a piece of code allowing him to unlock any system, Batman (Anthony Ruivivar) turns himself in allowing Harvey Dent (Christopher McDonald) to send the vigilante to Blackgate Prison where the arrival of both the Dark Knight Detective and the Key begin a prison riot controlled by Killer Croc (Wade Williams).

With Gordon (Kurtwood Smith) stymied by Dent's refusal to act (hoping the various criminal elements inside the prison do the District Attorney a favor and dispose of the Batman permanently), Katana (Sumalee Montano) enlists the help of Barbara Gordon (Tara Strong) to find Batman before its too late. Barbara's return is welcome, as is Alfred who finally returns to Wayne Manor to help curb Bruce's recent rash actions and help Batman nurse the wounds caused by his incarceration.

Other than Croc, the Key, and Tobias Whale (Michael-Leon Wooley), the inmates of Blackgate are all generic thugs who the Batman easily cuts his way through to recover the Key. A few other cameos of various Bat-villans (teasing us of those possibly debuting later in the series, like the short moment of Dent discussing the Penguin, would have been a nice touch). The fight between Batman and Croc for control the prison is one of the more memorable battles in the show's short run, and given the fact that Croc uses the chaos to escape prison during the police's attempts to gain control of Blackgate I'm guessing we haven't seen the last of him just yet.
