Legends of Tomorrow - Out of Time

With Vandal Savage defeated and the Time Masters destroyed the Legends have assumed the responsibility of policing the timestream. Opening with time detective Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) reaching out to Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) for help to find the missing Legends who disappeared in 1942 by preventing a nuclear attack on New York, the episode is presented mostly in flashbacks as Mick (Dominic Purcell) recounts what exactly went wrong leaving the Waverider crashed at the bottom of the ocean (where Heywood and Ollie find it) and its team scattered randomly across time.

Rather than introduce a new villain to fill Vandal Savage's shoes, "Out of Time" brings in villains from both Arrow and The Flash who it appears will be the major thorns in our heroes sides this year. Despite his lectures to the Flash about disrupting the timestream, it appears the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) is still having fun playing havoc with history. His partner in his latest endeavor is Damien Darkh (Neal McDonough), apparently before getting his magical powers, who Sara (Caity Lotz) has a particular interest in hunting down and killing before the man can murder her sister.

The recollection of the heores, minus their Captain who is still missing, is accomplished in a swift montage. Returning to 1942 to make a small tweak to Einstein's history to protect the scientist and his wife, the Legends have completed their mission. However, before leaving our heroes have an unexpected encounter with the Justice Society of America who want to know just who the time-travelers are. I'm guessing next week's episode should offer introductions all around and begin to explain the warning the Legends received (and decided to ignore) from Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams) at the end of last season.
