The LARPing episode. While there is plenty more going on in the second episode of Hawkeye, involving the first scenes of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) together, "Hide and Seek" will be remembered predominantly as the LARPing episode as Clint tracks down the Ronin costume but is forced to take place in a LARP tournament to win in back. The sequence is glorious as the unamused Avenger works his way through the tournament, and helps out the firefighter, who stole the costume from the burnt-out shell of Kate's apartment, to have the best day of his life.
Two episodes in, we still don't get to see our two Hawkeyes fight side-by-side. The torching of Kate's apartment leads Clint to put her in hiding while chasing down the costume. However, our odd couple will be reunited at the end of the episode as Kate takes it upon herself to save Clint from the Tracksuit Mafia (not realizing he had a plan she's already made far more complicated). The final scene teases Alaqua Cox as Echo, although we'll have to wait until the next episode to see any actual character development. Kate's distrust of her would-be-step-father (Tony Dalton) continues to be a theme here as well.
