The first episode of the animated Tales of the Empire series provides an origin for Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) last seen in Disney+'s Ahsoka series. We witness the slaughter of Morgan's tribe by the Separatist Droid Army and the death of her mother to General Grievous (Matthew Wood). Given shelter by the Mountain Clan, the Nightsister chooses against a new path and instead to arm herself and other young witches bringing them into the path of the army.
As with pretty much all Nightsister versions of the canon timeline, what we're given pales in comparison to the original version created by the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Also, I also don't need Grievous to be inserted into any more storylines, please. That said, "The Path of Fear" works as the first stepping stone for Morgan's fall into the Dark Side and her eventual partnership with Grand Admiral Thrawn, although how much of that we'll witness is still yet to be seen.
