Will Trent - Residente o Visitante

While a good chunk of the first-half of the episode features Will (Ramón Rodríguez) in Puerto Rico with Antonio (John Ortiz), his part in an investigation doesn't begin until he's back home and discovers one of the friends he met on the island has been killed in Atlanta. The episode works to play on Antonio's distrust of the police, particularly the FBI whose past with Puerto Rico is far from stellar, as well as give a chance for Will, Antonio, and the recovering Angie (Erika Christensen) to all work together to solve a crime the current FBI agent in charge (Christy St. John) seems all too willing to sweep under the rug.

Angie is free to help after being injured collaring a suspect early in the episode. Down a partner, and without a say in the matter, Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) finds himself paired with Faith (Iantha Richardson) in investigating the murder of a child molester recently released from prison. Having tried to force him to move, locals aren't too happy with the cops seeking justice for the victim including an online crusader who takes things too far putting the cops' families at risk.

Will's storyline, and vacation, gets wrapped up here with the unexpected exit of Antonio who has decided to return to Puerto Rico. Now free to return to work, the other case only gets more complicated with the discovery of other murders matching the same modus operandi. Given some of the teases we've gotten across the season, and another scene in this episode, I have a hunch on who our killer may turn out to be (leading to a heap of new trouble for everyone involved) in next week's season finale.
